High on the Tirumala hill lived Lord Varaha, who had made the sacred mountain his home after defeating Hiranyaksha. One day, Vishnu, in the form of Venkateswara, arrived at the foot of the hill, seeking a place to reside. As he gazed up at the summit, he knew he would have to ask Varaha for permission to settle on the holy land.

With great respect, Vishnu approached Varaha and said, “O Varaha Swamy, this hill is your home, but I humbly request a place to reside here as well.”

Varaha, noble and generous, agreed to Vishnu’s request, but with a condition. He said, “You may reside here, but my worship must always come first. Let the people who come here offer their prayers to me before they come to you.”

Vishnu agreed, and from that day onward, devotees who come to Tirupati first offer their respects to Varaha Swamy before proceeding to the shrine of Lord Venkateswara. Thus, the two forms of Vishnu reside together on the sacred Tirumala hill, blessing all those who visit.

Moral: True greatness lies in humility and respect for others. By recognizing the contributions of those who came before us, we honor the traditions and maintain harmony.
