The Three Sensitive Queens: A Tale of Empathy
As King Vikram carried Betal on his shoulders, Betal began another tale, this time about King Jaipal, who had three exceptionally sensitive and delicate queens. These queens were not only beautiful but also unusually fragile, reacting intensely to even the slightest discomfort.
One day, the first queen was lightly touched by a flower, yet the gentle contact left her bruised. Another night, while the king and his second queen were on the terrace under the moonlight, a cool breeze caused her skin to burn, leaving her faint with pain. The third queen was startled by a loud noise; immediately, her face turned pale, and she collapsed in fear.
Observing their delicate nature, Betal asked Vikram, “Which of the three queens is the most sensitive?” Vikram responded thoughtfully, “The most sensitive queen is the one who empathizes with others’ pain. True sensitivity does not lie in physical fragility but in understanding and sharing the feelings of others. A truly sensitive person would feel the pain of the world, not just their own discomfort.”
Impressed by Vikram’s answer, Betal agreed, saying, “You are wise, Vikram. Real sensitivity indeed resides in the heart, in kindness and empathy.” With these words, Betal flew back to the tree.
**Moral:** True sensitivity is shown through compassion and empathy, not just physical fragility. A kind and understanding heart is the sign of true delicacy.
