The Six Gum Balls — A Sweet and Funny Story for Kids About Healthy Teeth
Once upon a time, in a cozy little house by the meadow, there lived a cheerful young girl named Susie. She was known throughout her neighborhood for her bright smile, with teeth as white and shiny as pearls. But there was one thing everyone knew even more about Susie—she had a sweet tooth. From chocolates to candies, lollipops to gum balls, Susie loved all things sugary.
One sunny afternoon, Susie tiptoed to the kitchen and opened a large glass jar filled with colorful gum balls. She carefully took out six gum balls, each glowing with vibrant colors. To her surprise, as she held them in her hands, each gum ball began to speak and introduce itself!
“I am a caramel flavor!” chirped the yellow one.
“I am licorice flavor!” announced the purple one.
“I am gummy bears flavor!” giggled the red one.
“I am cola flavor!” boomed the brown one.
“I am pure sugar flavor!” said the white one with glee.
Finally, Susie looked at the green gum ball, who remained quiet. Curious, she asked, “Hello, green gum ball, what’s your flavor?”
The green gum ball hesitated and then softly muttered, “Umm… I’m broccoli flavor.”
Susie wrinkled her nose in disgust. “Yuck! I hate vegetables, especially broccoli! Back in the jar with you!” she exclaimed.
Feeling rejected, the green gum ball sadly rolled back into the jar, and Susie tightly closed the lid. She then gleefully chewed all the other gum balls one by one until their flavors faded away. As night approached, Susie’s mother reminded her, “Susie, it’s bedtime! Don’t forget to brush your teeth!” But Susie ignored her and went straight to bed without brushing.
A Shocking Morning Surprise
The next morning, Susie stretched, yawned, and went to the bathroom to wash her face. But when she looked in the mirror, she let out a loud scream:
“Aaaah! Where are my teeth?!”
Her pearly whites were gone! In shock, she ran back to her bed and burst into tears. Just then, a tiny voice whispered, “Hey, Susie, come here.”
It was the green gum ball, still sitting inside the jar.
“Please let me out,” he asked gently.
Ashamed and desperate, Susie quickly let him out. “I’m so sorry for how I treated you, green gum ball. Please help me!”
“I warned you about eating too many sweets, Susie,” he said with a wise nod. “But I do know a way to help you get your teeth back. Although… it’s a little gross.”
“Oh no… what is it?” Susie asked, wiping her tears.
“Well… you’ll need your grandmother’s help. Or rather, her… artificial jaws.”
“What?! That’s disgusting!” Susie protested.
“If you want your teeth back, you’ll have to do it!” the green gum ball insisted.
Determined, Susie sneaked into her grandmother’s room and borrowed her false teeth, which felt wet and weird. Back in her room, she popped the green gum ball into her mouth and started chewing with the artificial jaws. It was icky, but she chewed and chewed until the gum ball lost its flavor.
When she finished, Susie removed the jaws and looked in the mirror again. To her amazement, her shiny teeth had magically returned!
“Oh thank goodness! Thank you, green gum ball! I promise I’ll never treat you or any vegetable badly again! And I’ll brush my teeth every night!”
The green gum ball smiled and replied, “It’s alright, Susie. Just remember—don’t eat too many sweets, eat healthy food, and always brush your teeth before bed!”
And from that day on, Susie became known not just for her bright smile, but for her newfound love of vegetables and her sparkling-clean teeth.
The End.
Moral of the Story
Moderation is key! Eating too many sweets can harm your health, but with good habits like eating nutritious food and brushing your teeth, you can keep your smile bright and healthy.
