Once upon a time, a hare went to a pool to drink water. By chance, he noticed a slow-moving tortoise nearby and couldn’t resist mocking him. Feeling insulted, the tortoise challenged the hare to a race.

The hare, confident of his speed, accepted the challenge with a smirk. The next morning, they both gathered at the starting point, and the race began.

As expected, the hare sped far ahead and soon left the tortoise behind. After covering most of the distance, the hare grew bored and decided to rest, seeing the tortoise far behind. He nibbled on some grass, then lay under a shady bush and fell asleep.

Meanwhile, the tortoise kept moving steadily, step by step, never stopping. Eventually, he passed the sleeping hare and reached the finish line.

When the hare woke up, he realized he had slept for too long. Panicking, he ran as fast as he could toward the destination. But to his dismay, he found the tortoise already there, victorious.

Moral: Slow and steady wins the race.
