Once upon a time, a fox and a crane became friends. Eager to host his new friend, the fox invited the crane over for dinner. The crane, excited to visit, arrived at the fox’s home just as the sun was setting.

The fox had prepared a delicious soup for his guest, but being clever and sly, he served the soup in flat dishes. The fox eagerly lapped up his portion with his tongue, savoring every drop. Meanwhile, the crane, with his long beak, could not enjoy the soup at all and went home hungry, while the fox laughed at his discomfort.

A few days later, the crane decided to invite the fox to his home for dinner. The fox arrived on time, eager for another meal. The crane greeted him warmly and served soup in a jug with a narrow, long neck.

With delight, the crane drank the soup using his long beak, while the fox, with his short mouth, could not reach the soup at all. Frustrated and hungry, the fox was forced to leave.

Realizing how the crane had repaid him for his unkindness, the fox learned a valuable lesson.

Moral of the story: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Deceitful actions can come back to bite you.
