In his days of exile, the valorous Arjuna took refuge in Dwarka, the splendid city of his friend and guide, Lord Krishna. It was here that fate led him to Subhadra, Krishna’s radiant and graceful sister. Arjuna’s heart was captured, and his spirit stirred with a deep longing to make her his wife.

One day, with his heart laid bare, Arjuna sought Krishna’s blessing for this union. Krishna, wise as ever, offered a cryptic yet profound counsel: “A true warrior does not plead for his beloved. He must either win her heart in gentleness or carry her away with the strength of his resolve.” With Krishna’s words ringing in his ears, Arjuna’s course was set.

On a fateful day, when Subhadra had gone to the temple, Arjuna swept her away in a chariot, their love blazing like a comet across the skies of Dwarka. Furious at the news, Balarama, Subhadra’s elder brother, prepared to confront Arjuna. But Krishna, ever the mediator, revealed to Balarama the sincerity and purity of their love. Calming his elder brother, Krishna persuaded him that this union was blessed by destiny.

Moved by his sister’s happiness and Krishna’s wisdom, Balarama relented. He welcomed Arjuna and Subhadra back with grace, and they were formally married, sealing their love in the light of family blessing.

Moral: True love requires both courage and wisdom, and sometimes, it is destiny that guides the heart to its rightful union.
