After a humiliating encounter with Lord Rama, the demoness Shurpanakha, bruised and filled with rage, hurried to her brothers Khara and Dushana. She narrated her ordeal and demanded vengeance, insisting that her brothers punish the man who had wronged her. Khara and Dushana, both powerful demon commanders, were furious upon hearing of their sister’s humiliation. Driven by anger, they gathered a formidable army and prepared for battle.

Meanwhile, sensing the impending danger, Rama asked his brother Lakshmana to escort Sita to a safe place, away from the battlefield. Rama readied himself with his bow and arrows, standing firm in the face of the demon army. Khara and Dushana charged toward him, leading an imposing force of elephants, chariots, soldiers, and powerful warriors.

The battle began with the demons attacking from all directions, but Rama was undeterred. With his divine strength and unmatched skill, he unleashed a rain of powerful arrows, dismantling the enemy forces. One by one, the elephants, chariots, and soldiers fell to Rama’s precise strikes. Despite the demons’ relentless attacks, Rama held his ground, overcoming each wave with unparalleled courage and strength.

Finally, as the battle reached its climax, Rama confronted Khara and Dushana directly. In a fierce exchange, he struck down both brothers with powerful blows, ending their reign of terror. With a final, decisive shot, Rama defeated Khara, Dushana, and their companion, Trisara. The battlefield fell silent, with only one survivor left—Akampana, a demon who had managed to escape. Trembling with fear, Akampana fled to Lanka to inform Ravana, the demon king, of Rama’s formidable strength.

**Moral:** This tale highlights the themes of righteousness and bravery. Rama’s victory over Khara and Dushana symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, reminding us that strength and courage, combined with a righteous heart, can overcome any adversary.
