The Mourning Prince and His Sacred Crown
The Birth of a Princess
Long ago, in a majestic kingdom that had stood for centuries, a great joy filled the royal palace. The King and Queen, beloved by their people, were about to welcome their first child.
After months of care and anticipation, the Queen gave birth to a daughter, a healthy baby with a radiant smile. They named her Princess Claire, and from the moment she was born, she was the light of the kingdom.
To celebrate her arrival, the royal chefs prepared a sacred porridge, a special tradition believed to bring good fortune. Princess Claire grew up with love, laughter, and the unwavering devotion of her parents.
But fate had written a different story for the young princess.
A Royal Encounter
By the time Claire turned twelve, she had become a bright and curious young girl. She loved meeting new people, exploring the kingdom, and learning from those around her.
One day, during a visit to the neighboring kingdom, Claire heard a melodious voice singing under a great oak tree. Drawn to the music, she approached and found a boy around her age, his golden hair catching the sunlight.
“What are you doing? Are you sad?” she asked gently.
The boy looked up and smiled. “I’m just singing under the tree. I’m not sad.”
His name was Prince Gabriel, and from that moment, the two formed an unbreakable bond. Over the years, their friendship blossomed into love, a love that was as pure as the stars in the night sky.
But just as their story seemed to be unfolding into a beautiful tale, tragedy struck.
The Loss of a Princess
One evening, Princess Claire fell ill with a sudden, mysterious sickness. The King and Queen, desperate to save their only child, summoned the most skilled doctors from across the land.
But no cure could stop what fate had already decided.
After days of suffering, Princess Claire passed away.
The palace was shrouded in grief. The once-vibrant halls fell silent, the air heavy with sorrow. People wept openly, mourning the loss of the princess who had been their symbol of hope.
The King and Queen stood at her bedside, their hearts broken beyond repair. “We have lost our only daughter forever. May she find peace in the arms of the divine.”
The entire kingdom grieved with them. Even the trees seemed to weep, their golden leaves falling as if to mourn her passing.
But none felt the loss as deeply as Prince Gabriel.
A Crown of Sorrow
At the funeral, the kingdom fell into silence, save for the soft cries of those in mourning.
It was tradition in this land that those who lost their beloved in youth were considered sacred.
And so, by royal decree, Prince Gabriel was crowned with the title of the Holy Prince, a figure who would bear his sorrow with dignity and grace.
By law, he was not allowed to leave the Mourning Palace for forty days, for it was believed that those who had been left behind by fate must live in sacred isolation until the gods guided them forward.
Within the cold, somber halls of the palace, Prince Gabriel grieved alone, his heart burdened with loss.
A Song for the Grieving Prince
That night, as the people of the kingdom wept for their lost princess, a voice rose in the darkness.
Ernest, Gabriel’s closest friend, stood beneath the palace balcony, his voice carrying a song of solace across the kingdom:
🌿
The leaves fall to the ground,
Dark brown and withered.
That is death—never to rise again,
Be patient, my brother.
You were a light to me,
A fire within my soul.
May you rise once more,
A guiding star for our Lord.
O God, ease his sorrow,
O God, grant him strength.
Raise him as a beacon of hope,
A leader for the people…
🌿
As the song drifted into the night, the kingdom wept together, bound by their shared grief.
And in the solitude of his chamber, Prince Gabriel closed his eyes, his heart heavy yet filled with the echoes of love.
He had lost a princess.
But he would rise as a king.
