Betal narrated a tale to Vikram about three men—Mohan, Sohan, and Rohan—who were deeply in love with a beautiful woman named Manju. All three men hoped to marry her, but fate had other plans. Before she could choose among them, Manju suddenly passed away, leaving her suitors heartbroken.

Each man chose to honor her memory in his own way. Mohan moved to a quiet place by the river Ganga, dedicating his life to remembering Manju. Sohan kept her ashes close, treasuring them as a reminder of her presence. Rohan, meanwhile, traveled and found refuge in the house of a wise Brahmin.

One day, tragedy struck the Brahmin’s family as his wife died unexpectedly. The Brahmin, in his grief, performed a special ritual using sacred water from the Ganga, chanting a powerful mantra that brought his wife back to life. Rohan observed the ritual and committed the mantra to memory.

Determined to revive Manju, Rohan gathered her ashes from Sohan, sprinkled Ganga water over them, and chanted the mantra. Miraculously, Manju came back to life.

Betal, after finishing the story, posed a question to Vikram: “Among the three men, who is the most deserving of Manju’s love?”

Vikram answered, “Sohan is the most deserving, for he showed his devotion by keeping her ashes safe. Without his dedication, Rohan would not have been able to perform the ritual to bring her back to life.”

Pleased with Vikram’s answer, Betal flew away, leaving Vikram to continue his journey.

**Moral:** True love is shown through unwavering dedication and respect, even in the face of loss. Commitment and loyalty often transcend heroic acts.
