In this version of the Matsya tale, Lord Vishnu appears not only to King Manu but also to the Saptarishis, the seven great sages. Matsya warns them of the impending deluge and instructs them to gather the seeds of all plants and pairs of all animals, to ensure that life could be restored after the flood.

With Matsya’s guidance, the Saptarishis and Manu survive the flood and are instrumental in repopulating the Earth, making this a key story in Hindu cosmology.

Moral: This tale underscores the importance of foresight and preparation, as well as the divine protection offered to those who follow righteousness.
