Hanuman’s Marriage
While Hanuman is often depicted as a celibate monk, in some versions of his story, he is said to have married Suvarchala, the daughter of Surya, the Sun God. This marriage is symbolic rather than romantic, representing Hanuman’s connection to knowledge and his devotion to his duties as a servant of the divine.
Hanuman’s marriage is seen as a way to emphasize his relationship with knowledge and wisdom, as Suvarchala was also a form of divine intelligence. Despite this, Hanuman remained devoted to his ascetic life and spiritual practices, focusing on his service to Lord Rama.
