Hanuman and Shani (Saturn)

In another lesser-known tale, Shani, the god of Saturn and the lord of karmic justice, sought to cast his malefic influence over Hanuman. Shani’s presence often brings hardship and challenges, and he intended to test Hanuman. However, Hanuman, with his unwavering strength and unshakable devotion, easily subdued Shani.

Recognizing Hanuman’s divine power and devotion to righteousness, Shani admitted defeat. Impressed by Hanuman’s strength and character, Shani offered a blessing in return. He said, “For those who worship you, Hanuman, I will show leniency and spare them from the harsh effects of my influence.”

Thus, Hanuman became known as a protector against the ill effects of Saturn, and his devotees recite prayers to seek his protection from Shani’s malefic gaze. Hanuman’s humility and devotion not only earned him divine blessings but also made him a protector of those in need.
