Dvivida and Balarama’s Fierce Encounter
Dvivida, a mighty gorilla and close friend of the demon Bhaumasura, was consumed by anger after Krishna killed his friend. Seeking revenge, he decided to lay waste to Krishna’s kingdom, Dwarka. Driven by his rage, Dvivida embarked on a reign of terror, kidnapping young girls, attacking sages, and setting villages ablaze.
One day, while uprooting a mountain, Dvivida heard the soothing sound of a flute. Intrigued and irritated by the melody, he followed it to its source and found Balarama, Krishna’s brother, playing his flute for the gopis (cowherd girls). Mischievous by nature, Dvivida decided to disrupt Balarama’s peaceful gathering.
The gorilla caused chaos, creating loud noises, making rude faces, and breaking tree branches. Balarama, sensing the need to end the disturbance, decided to confront him. When Balarama approached, Dvivida responded by pulling up a huge oak tree and charging at him. However, Balarama easily crushed the tree with his mighty strength.
The fight grew intense as Balarama struck Dvivida with a powerful punch. Dvivida’s jaw shattered, and he lost all his teeth. With one final, forceful blow, Balarama defeated the rampaging gorilla, ending his reign of terror.
**Moral:** Those who seek revenge and cause harm to the innocent ultimately face the consequences of their actions.
