Once upon a time, a donkey was grazing contentedly in a pasture near the edge of a forest. After satisfying his hunger, he wandered into the forest and, to his surprise, found a lion’s skin lying near a bush.

The donkey’s eyes lit up with excitement. He thought to himself, “If I wear this lion’s skin, I could fool everyone into thinking I am the king of the forest!” Thrilled by the idea, the donkey picked up the lion’s skin and put it on. When he saw his reflection in a nearby pool of water, he was delighted to see that he truly looked like a lion.

Filled with newfound confidence, the donkey strutted through the forest, walking with the pride of a lion. Smaller animals like cats and mice, frightened by his appearance, scurried away in fear. The donkey, enjoying the power, walked even more proudly.

Just then, he saw a fox approaching. Eager to intimidate the fox, the donkey tried his best to roar like a lion. But the clever fox, unphased, replied, “I am afraid of a lion’s roar, not a donkey’s bray—no matter what he wears!”

Realizing that his disguise had been seen through, the donkey quickly discarded the lion’s skin and ran off in shame, not daring to continue his deception.

Moral of the story: Disguise never works in the long run. Truth and authenticity always prevail, no matter how convincing a facade may seem.
