Betal narrated another story to Vikram as he carried him through the forest. This tale was set in the kingdom of King Kiripal, where a terrifying giant plagued the land, devouring anyone who dared to cross his path. The king, desperate to save his people, declared, “Whoever kills this giant and frees our kingdom from fear shall have the honor of marrying my daughter, the princess.”

Many brave warriors tried to defeat the giant, but each met a grim fate. Then, one day, a simple village boy named Bholu stepped forward. He had no desire for fame or riches; his heart only wanted peace for his people. Driven by this selfless purpose, Bholu confronted the giant. After a fierce struggle, he managed to slay the creature, liberating the kingdom from its reign of terror.

When Bholu returned to the palace, the king was grateful but hesitant. He doubted if a mere village boy was worthy of marrying his royal daughter. To test Bholu’s worthiness, he presented him with a challenge, saying, “You must pass this test before you can claim your reward.” But Bholu, humble and uninterested in royal titles, declined the offer. “I did not kill the giant for a reward,” he replied. “I did it for the people.”

Hearing this, the princess, moved by Bholu’s sincerity and noble heart, spoke up. “I choose to marry him, for he has proven himself more honorable than any prince.” She valued his selflessness over status, understanding that a heart devoted to the well-being of others was the rarest treasure of all.

Betal then asked Vikram, “Why did they act this way?” Vikram replied, “Bholu declined the reward because he fought the giant out of selflessness, not for personal gain. The princess chose him because she recognized his genuine heart and wished to honor her father’s word.”

With that answer, Betal flew away, leaving Vikram to ponder the tale.

**Moral:** True nobility lies in selfless actions, and genuine love sees beyond titles and rewards. A heart filled with kindness is the greatest treasure of all.
