Bahlool’s Response to the Wicked Woman
One day, Bahlool, disheartened by the injustices and corruption of his time, retreated to an abandoned ruin to reflect and remember God. As he sat there mending his torn clothes, a woman of ill-repute happened to notice him. She approached him and, with brazen intent, invited him to engage in sinful behavior.
Bahlool looked at her calmly and asked, “Tell me, how much do you think my hands weigh? And my feet? How about the weight of my entire body?”
The woman, confused by his strange questions, remained silent.
Bahlool then continued, “Think about it: would any sane person burn their entire body in the fire of Hell for the fleeting pleasure of a single small part of it?”
His words struck her like lightning, their truth undeniable. Without waiting for her response, Bahlool let out a loud cry and ran away from the ruin, leaving her stunned and ashamed.
Through his wisdom and piety, Bahlool turned a moment of temptation into a profound lesson about self-control and the value of the soul over fleeting desires. His actions reminded others of the eternal consequences of their choices in life.
