Bahlool at the Dining Table

One day, Bahlool was eating at the same table as the Caliph. Suddenly, the Caliph noticed a hair in Bahlool’s food and said, “Take that hair out of your food.”

Bahlool replied, “A table where the host keeps an eye on the guest’s plate is not a place to sit,” and promptly left the gathering.
