One day, Bahlool was sitting in the yard eating a bowl of rice when a beggar came and said, “Our father is Adam (peace be upon him), and our mother is Eve. Therefore, we are brothers. You have a bowl of rice, so I want you to share it with me as a brother.” Bahlool picked up a single grain of rice and handed it to him. The beggar said, “Brother, why don’t you share equally?” Bahlool replied, “Be quiet. If the other brothers find out, you won’t even get this much!”

In this tale, Bahlool humorously teaches the beggar about greed, highlighting the difference between the spirit of sharing and the reality of the beggar’s expectations.
