Bahlool and the Price of Bread

Saqati, a spiritual man, once approached Bahlul and said, “Bread has become very expensive. Pray for its price to decrease.”

Bahlul replied, “I am not worried about the high price of bread, even if a single grain of barley were to cost as much as a measure of gold or silver. It is my duty to serve and worship Almighty God, and it is His responsibility to provide me with my sustenance, as He has promised.”
