Bahlool and the Greedy Man

A greedy man approached Bahlul and said, “Give me your ring so that whenever I look at it, I will remember you, and in this way, you will always be in my thoughts.”

Bahlul replied, “If your intention is to remember me, then every time you wish to think of me, just recall the moment when you asked for my ring, and I did not give it to you.”
