As Rama’s army crossed the bridge to Lanka, Rama made one final attempt to prevent the impending war. He sent Angada, the son of Vali, as his messenger to Ravana, hoping to convey a message of peace and friendship.

Standing before the proud king of Lanka, Angada said, “I have come with a message of peace. Release Sita and end this conflict by making amends with the noble Rama.”

But Ravana, filled with arrogance and pride, sneered at Angada’s words and replied, “I would rather die than make peace with my enemy.”

Angada, unfazed by Ravana’s response, said calmly, “This was your last chance to save yourself and your kingdom. You have chosen pride over wisdom, and now you must face the consequences. The mighty Rama will destroy you and all that you have built.”

Ravana, furious at Angada’s words, ordered his guards to seize him. Two rakshasas quickly grabbed Angada, intending to drag him away. But Angada, displaying his incredible strength and agility, leaped high into the air, escaping their grasp with ease, and returned safely to Rama’s camp.

**Moral:** Arrogance blinds us to wisdom and often leads to downfall. True strength lies in humility and the willingness to seek peace over conflict.
