In the crisp days of autumn, an olive tree and a fig tree stood side by side. The fig tree, as was its nature, had shed all its leaves and stood bare, while the olive tree remained lush and green, flaunting its evergreen glory.

The olive tree couldn’t resist taunting its neighbor. “How unfortunate you are,” it said with a haughty tone. “Every autumn, you lose all your leaves and stand naked, while I stay adorned in my greenery year-round.”

The fig tree, calm and wise, replied, “Dear friend, it’s simply the way we were made. You remain evergreen, and I shed my leaves. Neither of us has control over this, so there is no reason for pride or shame.”

A few days later, a heavy snowfall blanketed the land. The snow settled on the dense leaves of the olive tree, weighing it down until its branches gave way and snapped. The fig tree, however, stood unharmed, for the snow passed harmlessly through its bare branches and fell to the ground.

Moral of the Story:
Pride in one’s advantages can lead to downfall, while humility and acceptance often pave the way for survival.
