The Power of Motivation
One day, a dog spotted a rabbit and, eager for some fun, began chasing it. The rabbit, quick and agile, darted through the fields and managed to escape, leaving the dog behind.
A goat, who had been watching the chase, stopped to laugh at the dog’s failed attempt.
“Too fast for you, wasn’t he?” the goat sneered.
The dog, panting but calm, replied, “Why are you surprised? I was chasing him for fun; he was running for his life.”
Moral of the story: Performance depends on motivation. When the stakes are high, or when we have a strong reason to succeed, we put in more effort and perform better.
