Bahlool’s Humorous Visit to the Governor on Eid
On the day of Eid, Bahlool decided to visit the governor of the city. Upon seeing Bahlool, the governor initially mocked him, laughing at his appearance and demeanor. Bahlool, unfazed, said, “Do you have anything for me to eat?”
The governor, dismissive, ordered his servant to bring Bahlool some bread and olives. Bahlool ate the simple meal without complaint, and after finishing, he addressed the governor, saying, “On this festive day of Eid, I came to you expecting to be treated to a feast of meat.”
The governor, embarrassed by Bahlool’s remark, was shamed in front of those present. His failure to honor a guest, especially on such an important day, revealed his lack of true hospitality.
