Once upon a time, one of the greatest battles fought by the mighty god Indra was against a terrifying demon named Vritra. Vritra had taken the form of a monstrous creature and, in his greed, had seized all the water in the world, plunging the Earth into a severe drought. Without water, life itself was threatened, and despair spread across the land.

The cries of suffering reached Indra, the king of the gods and the protector of rains. Determined to save the world, Indra vowed to defeat Vritra and restore the life-giving water to the Earth. With thunderous determination, he charged toward Vritra’s fortress, ready to face the formidable demon.

Inside the fortress, Indra confronted Vritra, who stood firm and defiant. A fierce and lengthy battle ensued, shaking the heavens and the earth. They clashed with all their might, each determined to overcome the other. Finally, in a powerful stroke, Indra struck down Vritra, breaking his hold on the water.

As Vritra fell, his body split open, and the trapped waters flowed freely, rushing back into rivers, lakes, and seas, restoring life and vitality to the world. The people and all creatures rejoiced as rain poured down, replenishing the land and ending the drought.

Indra was hailed as a hero, celebrated by gods and mortals alike as the one who restored balance and saved the Earth.

**Moral of the Story:** The courage to confront and overcome great obstacles can restore balance and bring life to others. Indra’s battle with Vritra reminds us that selfless bravery in the face of adversity can turn the tide and save the world.
