In the heavenly realms, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati resided on Mount Kailash, embodying the perfect union of asceticism and love. They had a son named Ganesha, affectionately known as Gajanana, who was revered as the remover of obstacles and the god of beginnings. Gajanana was unique, with the head of an elephant and a kind heart that endeared him to all.

One day, the wealthiest god, Kubera, the lord of riches and treasures, visited Shiva and Parvati to pay his respects. He brought with him an opulent offering, wishing to showcase his wealth and gain favor from the divine couple. Kubera, proud of his riches, boasted about his treasures, proclaiming that no one could match the abundance he possessed.

Shiva, sensing Kubera’s arrogance, decided to teach him a lesson in humility. He invited Kubera to share a feast with them. Ganesha, being the playful and wise deity he was, sensed the tension in the air and decided to take the opportunity to intervene.

As the feast was prepared, Ganesha offered to serve the food, and his parents gladly accepted. However, Ganesha was determined to prove a point about the true nature of wealth. While serving, he noticed that Kubera had brought an extravagant amount of food and riches but lacked the true richness of love and humility that comes from within.

As the meal progressed, Ganesha began to eat voraciously, consuming everything in sight. Shocked, Kubera exclaimed, “What are you doing, Gajanana? You must not eat all this food!”

With a twinkle in his eye, Ganesha responded, “Dear Kubera, true wealth is not in what you possess but in the joy you bring to others. Look at how much you have brought here. Why not share it freely?”

Before Kubera could comprehend the meaning behind Ganesha’s words, he realized that he had underestimated the power of the young god. Ganesha continued to eat, and soon enough, all of Kubera’s treasures began to diminish. Eventually, Kubera’s offerings were reduced to mere crumbs.

Kubera was aghast at the loss of his wealth but humbled by the experience. Understanding Ganesha’s lesson, he fell to his knees and apologized for his arrogance. “O Gajanana, I realize now that true wealth lies not in material riches but in humility, love, and the bonds we share with others.”

Shiva and Parvati smiled, pleased with Ganesha’s wisdom and Kubera’s change of heart. They blessed Kubera, reminding him that sharing and humility would always lead to greater abundance than mere possessions could provide.

From that day forward, Kubera became a devoted follower of Ganesha, understanding the importance of balance between wealth and spiritual values. Ganesha’s lessons resonated throughout the heavens, reminding all deities that true wealth is rooted in love, generosity, and the joy of giving.

**Moral:** The tale of Gajanana, Kubera, Shiva, and Parvati teaches us that true wealth is not measured by material possessions but by the love and humility we cultivate in our hearts. It reminds us that sharing and kindness create a richness that transcends all worldly treasures.
