Hanuman’s Encounter with Lord Krishna
During the events of the Mahabharata, Hanuman had a remarkable encounter with Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu, just as Rama was. Although Hanuman had pledged his eternal devotion to Rama, Krishna revealed his divine nature to Hanuman, showing that he and Rama were different forms of the same ultimate reality.
Recognizing Krishna’s divinity, Hanuman offered his support during the great battle of Kurukshetra. He agreed to protect Arjuna, Krishna’s disciple, by sitting on the banner of Arjuna’s chariot during the war. Hanuman’s presence on the Hanumandhwaja (flag of Hanuman) became a symbol of protection, and his blessings ensured Arjuna’s victory.
