During his youth, Hanuman’s immense power and playful nature often led him into mischief. His divine abilities made him fearless, and his playful antics became a source of trouble for those around him, particularly the sages who meditated in peace. Hanuman’s tendency to disturb the sages with his pranks eventually caused them to curse him. The sages, though fond of him, grew frustrated and declared, “You will forget your powers until the moment comes when you are reminded of your divine purpose.”

From that day forward, Hanuman lived unaware of his immense strength and abilities. He grew into a humble servant, never realizing his full potential. However, this curse had a silver lining. It was only during the events of the Ramayana, when Rama’s mission required Hanuman’s strength, that he was reminded of his divine powers. When Jambavan, the wise bear, reminded Hanuman of his forgotten abilities, the curse was lifted.

The memory of his divine strength returned, and Hanuman regained the full use of his god-given powers. This moment of revelation marked the beginning of Hanuman’s pivotal role in Lord Rama’s mission, showing that even divine beings must be reminded of their purpose when the time is right.
